The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has denied responsibility for the exit of ride-hailing platform Uber from Nigeria, attributing the decision to Uber's own economic and regulatory considerations. Uber ended its operations in Nigeria on September 2, 2026, after 12 years. FAAN's Managing Director, Mrs. Olubunmi Kuku, acknowledged receiving complaints about poor experiences with some e-hailing platforms at airports during the December holiday period. She spoke at an aviation event in Lagos, where she noted issues of intimidation reported by passengers.
