The Nigerian Army has reported that troops neutralized several terrorists and apprehended 24 suspects in operations conducted across multiple states over the past 24 hours. The operations, carried out between September 1 and 3, included foiling a kidnapping attempt along Kotonkoro-Bangi Road in Niger State, where five victims were rescued. In Benue State, troops of Operation Whirl Stroke arrested five suspects and recovered two AK-47 magazines and 46 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition during a clearance operation at a suspected terrorist hideout in Peva. The military continues to intensify efforts to combat insecurity in the region.
