The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) has appointed Haruna Ibrahim Kakangi as the new editor of its Hausa Service. Kakangi, a Senior Digital Journalist at BBC World Service, will serve on a one-year attachment. He replaces Aliyu Tanko, who resigned in August 2025 following allegations of bullying. Kakangi brings over 10 years of experience in digital journalism and broadcasting.
