Hon. Ejaife Omizu Odebala has filed a lawsuit at the Federal High Court in Abuja against the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), and four others regarding the party's governorship primary in Delta State. In the suit marked FHC/ABJ/CS/1636/2026, Odebala is seeking to be declared the winner of the primary held on May 29, 2026, claiming he received the highest number of votes. The legal action, dated July 29, 2026, was filed by his legal team led by Fredricks Itula, SAN, and requests a declaration that votes from certain local government areas should be included in the final tally.
