The Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Centre (NPF-NCCC) has stated that pre-registered SIM cards sold by telecom vendors pose serious threats to national security. Director AIG Akaninyene Ezima made the assertion during a press conference in Abuja, noting that such SIM cards enable terrorists and cybercriminals to operate while making it harder for security agencies to track them. He assured that despite difficulties, the perpetrators would eventually be tracked down.
