Nigeria’s reserves hit $54bn, highest in 18 years

Nigeria's external reserves have climbed to $54.08 billion, the highest level in nearly 18 years, according to the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). The reserves reached this figure on September 3, up from $53.99 billion the previous day, and have increased by approximately $1.42 billion since August 19. Year-to-date, the reserves have risen by $8.52 billion, an 18.7% increase since January 2, surpassing the CBN's projection for the end of 2026.
