The Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) has stated that debates over the removal of fuel subsidy are now belated, urging the Federal Government to ensure the policy's benefits translate into improved living conditions for Nigerians. PENGASSAN President Bosun Olabiyi-Agoro made this remark on Channels Television's The Morning Brief, noting that Nigerians have endured significant hardship since the subsidy removal in May 2023. He emphasized that petrol prices have risen from about N200 per litre to around N1,300, increasing transportation costs and broader economic strain.
