Ibom Air, owned by Akwa Ibom State, has expanded its fleet with a new Airbus A220-300, bringing its total to 10 aircraft. The airline now operates seven Bombardier CRJ-900s and three Airbus A220-300s, and it is approaching five million cumulative passengers by September 2026. Governor Umo Eno addressed guests at the tarmac reception in Uyo, highlighting the airline's operational metrics. The state government also dismissed claims of monopolizing Victor Attah International Airport, stating it remains open to all operators.
