A former member of the House of Representatives, Ehiozuwa Johnson Agbonayinma, has called on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to reopen and prosecute former Vice President Atiku Abubakar over alleged corruption, citing a 2006 report by the anti-graft agency and one from the United States. Agbonayinma, who represented Egor/Ikpoba-Okha Federal Constituency, gave a 14-day ultimatum, threatening legal action if the EFCC fails to act. He claimed that the failure to prosecute Atiku has caused the country embarrassment. In response, Atiku dismissed the call and advised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to disclose his own alleged record of complicity in drug dealings, in which Tinubu reportedly forfeited a sum of money.
