The Social Democratic Party (SDP) is set to hold a direct primary in Nasarawa State to replace its governorship candidate, Musa Adamu Angba, who recently withdrew from the race. The exercise will take place at Ta'al Hotel in Lafia, with former Inspector-General of Police Mohammed Abubakar Adamu tipped as a possible replacement ahead of the 2027 election. The party also plans a similar primary in Gombe State to select a new candidate. The SDP has notified the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) about the proposed replacements.
