Nigeria's football governance is undergoing significant reforms following a directive from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. This follows the Super Falcons' failure to qualify for the 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup and their exit from the 2026 Women's Africa Cup of Nations. The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) President Ibrahim Gusau and his executive committee have resigned, and an interim management team led by Dr. Emmanuel Ikpeme has been installed. The National Sports Commission (NSC) is planning a FIFA-backed Normalisation Committee to oversee the reforms.
