The Rivers State House of Assembly has set up an ad-hoc committee to investigate the funding of PAMO University of Medical Sciences. The assembly had earlier expunged N6 billion meant for scholarships at the university from the 2026 budget. The probe aims to determine how the funds were sourced and expended. The university has received funding from former governor Nyesom Wike and current governor Siminalayi Fubara.
