Target-date funds are popular among younger investors, with 81% of Gen Z and 70% of millennials holding their 401(k) balances in them, according to Fidelity. However, some retirement experts, including the creator of the 4% rule, argue that these funds are too conservative. Alternatives such as lifestyle funds and financial advisors are suggested.
