Meet Oluwaseun Ogunsakin, the teenager who ended Nigeria’s wait at US Open Junior

Nigerian teenage tennis player Oluwaseun Ogunsakin, nicknamed 'The Shark', has qualified for the main draw of the 2026 US Open Junior Championships. He defeated top seed Felix Roussel of Canada 6-3, 6-4 in the final qualifying round, following a previous win over Poland's Tymon Litwic. The 14-year-old, who trains at Aurum Tennis Academy, is competing in his third consecutive Grand Slam junior event, having previously played at Roland Garros and Wimbledon. His qualification marks the first time a Nigerian will compete in the singles main draw at the US Open Juniors.
