The US military announced that it destroyed three oil tankers linked to Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) after the Iranian forces fired on American warships. US Central Command stated that the tankers, identified as M/T Downy, M/T Stark 1, and M/T Kylo, were rendered inoperable in separate incidents near Kharg Island, Jask, and the Gulf of Oman. The action was taken in response to what the US described as failed attacks by Iran.
