The Kano State Hisbah Board has arrested 22 individuals suspected of crossdressing in various parts of the state. The arrests were confirmed by the Deputy Commander General of the Board, Dr Mujahid Aminuddeen, who stated that the suspects were apprehended around Zoo Road, Court Road, and other neighbouring areas. Most of those arrested reportedly entered Kano from other states. The suspects, comprising 10 women and 12 men, admitted to engaging in hook-up activities and drug abuse. Investigations are ongoing, and those found guilty will face the law. Aminuddeen reiterated that Hisbah would not tolerate acts of immorality in Kano and would intensify its crackdown on such practices.
