Atiku playing to the gallery, 15 northern states ‘ll collapse if subsidy returns – OAU prof

Professor Tunji Ogunyemi of Obafemi Awolowo University has argued that reintroducing petroleum subsidies would lead to the collapse of 15 northern states. He described the advocacy for subsidy return by some politicians as playing to the gallery. Ogunyemi noted that only four states could survive without federal allocations. He made these remarks on a podcast, warning that subsidy reversal would reduce accruals to the Federation Account.
