Reps dissolve all ad hoc committees

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Abbas Tajudeen, has ordered the dissolution of all ad hoc committees of the House with immediate effect. The directive, contained in a circular signed by the Clerk of the House, Sidi Ibrahim, cited the expiration of the time allotted for the committees to complete their assignments and submit reports. The circular noted that only two committees had sought and obtained extensions, but those extensions had also elapsed. The dissolution took effect from Friday, August 28, 2026.
