Insecurity: Let Tinubu, Defence Minister travel without escorts — APM

The Allied Peoples Movement (APM) has challenged President Bola Tinubu and Defence Minister General Christopher Musa (retired) to travel by road without armed security escorts if they maintain that Nigeria's security situation has improved. In a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Abubakar Yusuf, the party accused the administration of living in denial over worsening insecurity and faulted Musa for claiming improvement. The APM argued that the security crisis is reflected in the fear of road travel, abductions, and families waiting for missing loved ones, not just official briefings. The party cited the 2026 Global Terrorism Index as contradicting the government's assessment.
