The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) results of underage candidates for viewing. This was contained in a statement by JAMB's Public Communication Adviser, Dr. Fabian Benjamin. Benjamin clarified that the release of results does not confer eligibility for admission on all underage candidates, as only those who meet stringent requirements for exceptional consideration would be admitted. He defined an underage candidate for the 2026 admission exercise as any candidate who would be less than 16 years old as of September 30, 2026. The results were released primarily to enable candidates and their parents or guardians to know their performance, and cannot be used for admission or any other official purpose except for such candidates.
