Fawehinmi fought to keep Nigeria’s political space open — Uba Sani

Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani stated that late human rights lawyer Gani Fawehinmi made significant contributions to Nigeria's democracy by fighting to keep the political space open. Sani spoke at the public presentation of a book titled 'Gani Fawehinmi and Uba Sani: A Tale of Mentor and Mentee' in Kaduna. He recalled Fawehinmi's legal battles against stringent INEC conditions for political associations and his encouragement for activists to have faith in the judiciary and rule of law.
