Probe ₦78.8bn cash transfer scandal, SERAP tells Tinubu

The Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) has urged President Bola Tinubu to direct the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, the National Cash Transfer Office (NCTO), and the National Social Safety Nets Coordinating Office (NASSCO) to account for over ₦78.8 billion in public funds allegedly diverted or irregularly spent. The allegations are documented in the 2024 Annual Report by the Auditor-General of the Federation, covering periods from January 2023 to December 2024. SERAP also called for the publication of full records and audit trails of the ₦33.751 billion 2023 cash transfers.
