The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has confirmed that four corpses were sighted in connection with an incident at Jetty Creeks in Okrika Local Government Area of Rivers State. The confirmation came amid conflicting accounts over the cause of the deaths and what the victims were doing at the time. The NSCDC Rivers State Command, in an update by its spokesperson Olufemi Ayodele, said its undercover team sighted the corpses after further assessment and surveillance. The command stressed that the identities of the deceased and the circumstances surrounding their deaths are still being verified.
