5+5 policy cuts drug imports by 70%, boosts local production — NAFDAC

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has announced that its 5+5 policy and Ceiling List initiative have significantly reduced drug imports and boosted local production. According to NAFDAC's Director-General, imports of affected medicines dropped by 70%, while local manufacturing increased from 30% to 50%. The measures have also attracted new investments and expanded production facilities.
