Marines with the 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit conducted training aboard an amphibious warship to detect and jam hostile drones using the Light Marine Air-Defense Integrated System (L-MADIS). The upgraded system can disrupt a drone's control link, and its passive sensors allow Marines to detect drones without revealing their position. During the exercise, no hostile drones appeared, but the training was part of efforts to defend amphibious assault ships from drone threats.
