James Okoye, a controversial member of the Knights of St John International in Nnewi, Anambra State, has been arrested for alleged public nuisance. Okoye was seen wandering the streets dressed in red overalls, carrying palm fronds and a bell, claiming to be cleansing the town of evil spirits. He had previously attracted attention during the dedication of the Assumpta Cathedral by renouncing Christianity, citing the church's failure to recognize contributions of the late Senator Ifeanyi Ubah. His actions led to his arrest after passersby alerted local vigilante operatives.
