Nigeria facilitated the return of former Sierra Leone President Ernest Bai Koroma to Freetown, ending his two-year political exile in Nigeria. Koroma had been in Nigeria following a failed coup attempt and treason charges in Sierra Leone. He arrived on Sunday accompanied by Nigeria's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, and former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo. Nigeria described the return as the culmination of sustained diplomatic and confidence-building efforts.
