Colon cancer: Widow, 38, appeals for N5m to undergo chemotherapy

Aminat Bello, a 38-year-old widow and mother of three, is appealing for N5 million to undergo chemotherapy for colon cancer. Her ordeal began on December 15, 2025, with severe abdominal pain, leading to a diagnosis of a colon tumour. She underwent surgery on March 18, 2026, and was later referred to the NSIA-LUTH Cancer Centre in Lagos, where tests confirmed Stage IIIB colon cancer. A medical report dated August 12, 2026, prescribed six cycles of chemotherapy using the FOLFOX regimen. Bello, who runs a fashion business, is struggling to raise funds for the treatment while caring for her children.
