The Bonga South-West Aparo (BSWA) deepwater oil project, with potential lifetime investment of up to $21 billion, is moving closer to reality after more than two decades of delays. The project, located in Nigeria's offshore Niger Delta, has faced changes in government, fiscal policies, and commercial disputes. It has now returned to the centre of Nigeria's energy agenda and could become a test of Nigeria's ability to attract large-scale energy investments.
