Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim, the Accord Party's presidential candidate for the 2027 election, has outlined a plan to achieve a fuel price of 605 naira per litre in Nigeria. He argued that the current pricing structure overvalues the commodity and imposes unnecessary costs on consumers. Olawepo-Hashim stated that the proposed price is based on a domestic crude cost of about $30 per barrel, additional refining and logistics costs, and an energy tax to support alternative energy development. He also contended that the naira is currently undervalued and challenged the federal government's approach to the currency.
