Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), has urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to ensure the 2027 general election is free, transparent, and credible. He made the call in Ogugu, Kogi State, during the unveiling of Chief Peter Ameh as the NDC Kogi East Senatorial Candidate. Obi stressed that INEC must resist manipulation of the electoral process and that the wishes of Nigerian voters must be respected. He expressed concern about citizens' ability to protect their votes on election day, citing hunger and poverty as pressing issues.
