The Edo State Government has expressed concern over the shutdown of the Ossiomo power plant, which previously supplied about 11 megawatts of electricity to government offices and residents of Benin City. Commissioner for Power, Hon. Paul Usenbo, described the shutdown as unfortunate, noting its negative impact on government facilities and residents who relied on the plant. He recalled that Ossiomo supplied electricity to residents, SMEs, business owners, industries, and government facilities, highlighting its important role in the state's electricity sector. The commissioner said the effect of the shutdown has been significant.
