The Crude Oil Refinery Owners Association of Nigeria (CORAN) has called for urgent presidential intervention to address structural constraints facing domestic refiners. In a position paper, the association urged the convening of a Presidential Refining Industry Roundtable with stakeholders including refiners, regulators, crude producers, NNPC, and financial institutions. CORAN warned that without action, Nigeria will continue exporting crude oil and jobs while relying on imported petroleum products. The proposed roundtable aims to develop a roadmap for securing commercially viable crude supplies for local refineries.
