The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has rescued two abandoned newborn babies in separate incidents in Kurudu and Gwagwalada Area Council. Commissioner of Police Ahmed Mohammed Sanusi disclosed this to journalists in Abuja on Friday. The first baby was found on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, around Obodo Street, Kurudu, after a resident was attracted by the baby's cry. The newborn was wrapped in cloth and placed inside a carton. Police officers from the Kurudu Division and the Juveniles and Women Care Department rescued the baby, who was taken to a hospital and is in stable condition.
