Why APC, ADC, PDP delayed presidential campaign council inauguration

Major Nigerian political parties, including the All Progressives Congress (APC), African Democratic Congress (ADC), and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), have delayed the inauguration of their presidential campaign councils for the 2027 election. While campaigns have officially commenced under the Electoral Act 2026, parties cite various reasons for the postponement. The Accord Party stated it has not yet decided on its presidential campaign, while the ADC expects to inaugurate its council soon. The Allied Peoples Movement (APM) plans to inaugurate its council today, and the Labour Party and Accord are in a waiting game.
