The Federal Government has announced that repair works on the Kara-Berger Bridge will commence on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, and last for two weeks. The project, directed by the Minister of Works, Senator David Umahi, involves replacing deteriorating expansion joints to improve road safety and traffic flow. Motorists on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway have been cautioned to expect travel delays and lane restrictions, especially during peak hours. The Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency (TRACE) and other stakeholders are coordinating traffic management during the repair period.
