The United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) funded the construction of the Amaki Bridge in Maridi County, which has reconnected rural communities. Previously, residents of Amaki Boma struggled to cross a waterway to access healthcare, schools, and markets, especially during the rainy season. The bridge has significantly improved access to essential services, including emergency transport for women in labor. Farmers also benefit from better access to markets for their produce.
