Sun International, the owner of Sun City resort, has started a formal consultation process under section 189A of the Labour Relations Act, which could lead to retrenchments. This move comes despite the company reporting a 7.4% increase in income over the past six months. The consultation process is a legal requirement before any retrenchments can take place. The company has not yet disclosed the number of employees that may be affected.
