The Rivers State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has responded to a statement by Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, who boasted that Rotimi Amaechi, the ADC's vice presidential candidate, would be defeated by noon on election day in 2027. ADC chairman Dr. Chukwudi Dimkpa said elections are not won by boasts or intimidation, and that Rivers people will decide through their votes. The party criticized Wike's remarks made during a civic reception in Omagwa.
