Ghana's Minister for Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, expressed gratitude to all who supported the evacuation of Ghanaian nationals affected by xenophobic attacks in South Africa. He welcomed the final batch of 41 evacuees at Accra International Airport on Friday, September 4, 2026. The Minister thanked staff of the Ministry, the Ghana High Commission in Pretoria, and various organizations including NADMO, Ghana Red Cross Society, and the Church of Pentecost for their assistance. Airtel Tigo also provided free SIM cards and call credits to the evacuees.
