ECOWAS has warned member states to prevent the diversion of legally acquired weapons for illicit purposes. The warning was given by Mr. Abayomi Adeomi, Acting Head of the Small Arms Division, during a training session in Port Harcourt. The training, organized with the Bonn International Centre for Conflict Studies, focused on physical security and stockpile management. It brought together personnel from Nigerian security agencies. Adeomi also commended the Federal Government and NCCSALW for their support.
