2027: There’ll be consequences for misconduct, INEC chair warns officers

The Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Joash Amupitan, has warned electoral officers of consequences for misconduct, urging them to remain neutral and discharge their duties with integrity during the 2027 general elections. He gave the warning at a South-West Zonal Interactive Meeting with staff in Lagos, emphasizing that partisan leaning, administrative negligence, and compromised ethics would not be tolerated. Amupitan stressed that the protection of INEC's institutional integrity is non-negotiable and that the commission will enforce its code of conduct.
