The Federal Government has initiated the process of upgrading the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) to a National Anti-Corruption Court. The CCT is currently a quasi-judicial body that tries officials accused of breaching the code of conduct for public officers, particularly regarding failure to declare assets and abuse of office. It has handled high-profile cases, including those involving President Bola Tinubu, former Chief Justice Walter Onnoghen, and former Senate President Bukola Saraki. President Tinubu appointed Dr. Mainasara Kogo as the tribunal's Chairman on January 20, 2025.
