Aliko Dangote, Chairman of Dangote Group, has announced that the Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals will become the world's largest refinery by 2028. He made this statement at the preliminary signing ceremony for the refinery's initial public offering (IPO). The facility, currently Africa's largest and the world's largest single-train refinery with a capacity of 700,000 barrels per day, is expected to expand to achieve this global ranking. Dangote described the IPO as a significant milestone for the company, Nigeria, and Africa.
