Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State has appointed a new Emir of Zurmi. The new monarch becomes the 21st Sarkin Zamfaran Zurmi, succeeding Alhaji Bello Suleiman, who passed away on August 31, 2026. The appointment was announced in an official statement.
