The Lagos State Police Command has arrested four suspects in connection with the mob killing of Basit Kolade, who was beaten to death on Lagos Island weeks before his wedding. Kolade, who had recently returned to Nigeria for his wedding, was attacked on September 2, 2026, following an altercation involving his vehicle and a motorcycle. The police spokesperson, SP Abimbola Adebisi, confirmed the incident and stated that Kolade was travelling with a female companion when the attack occurred. The suspects are currently in custody as investigations continue.
