The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has disowned a truck bearing its markings after it was intercepted by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) with 2,145 kilogrammes of cannabis in Ondo State. In a statement by its Chief Corporate Communications Officer, Andy Odeh, NNPCL said preliminary checks showed the vehicle was not owned by the company nor part of its official fleet or that of its authorised dealers. The company commended the NDLEA for its vigilance and noted that the logo on the vehicle was inconsistent with its current official branding.
