Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited has formally begun the process of launching its Initial Public Offering (IPO) with a signing ceremony for the offer of 4.1 billion ordinary shares. The IPO aims to open ownership of Africa's largest single-train refinery to up to 10 million subscribers. Industry stakeholders describe the offer as potentially the largest retail investment drive ever undertaken on the continent. The IPO is expected to broaden participation in the refinery, deepen market liquidity, and create a new generation of shareholders.
