The South-South Governors' Forum (SSGF) has declared support for President Bola Tinubu's re-election bid in 2027, pledging 100% backing. In a communiqué issued after their meeting in Calabar, the governors resolved to reposition the region as an integrated economic powerhouse by fast-tracking rail connectivity, rehabilitating seaports, and promoting industrialization. They identified regional rail development, rehabilitation of Calabar, Port Harcourt, and Warri seaports, and the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway as strategic priorities. The meeting was chaired by Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri.
