Nigeria's Falconets lost their opening Group F match at the FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup in Poland, falling 2-0 to Spain. Spain dominated possession and scored through Marisa Garcia in the 13th minute and Alba Cerrato in the second half. The Nigerian team, led by coach Moses Aduku, struggled to create chances and failed to test the Spanish goalkeeper consistently. The defeat leaves Nigeria needing positive results in their remaining group games to advance.
